How do I apply Builder Base?
Filing Your Nails:
Start by filing your nails into the desired shape. Make sure the edges are smooth and there are no sharp edges left.
Roughening the Nail Plate:
Use a block buffer to lightly roughen the top of your nails. This helps improve the adhesion of the Builder Base. After the manicure has been shaped and the natural nail has been prepared as with any nail service;
Degreasing:
Clean your nails with a Nail Wipe containing Nail Prep to remove oil and dirt. This ensures better adhesion.
Applying the Builder Base:
Roll the Builder Base bottle briefly between your palms just before use to thin the gel;
apply a thin layer of Builder Base, keeping a 1 mm distance from the cuticles. This prevents the gel from coming into contact with the skin.
Depending on the color, the Builder Base can be applied in one, two, or more layers and cured in an LED lamp for 60 seconds (for the first flat [thin] layer) and 60 seconds (for a thicker layer). We recommend starting with two very thin layers; a thicker third layer is an option but generally not necessary.
Do not remove the tacky layer of the Builder Base.
Finishing touch:
You can continue with a colored gel polish layer or finish with the Carma Cosmetics Top Coat of your choice! We recommend the No Wipe Top Coat for this gel.
Quick Guide for Professional Nail Extensions with Carma Cosmetics Builder Base:
Apply a thin layer of Builder Base, keeping a 1 mm distance from the cuticles. Cure for 30–60 seconds under the LED lamp.
Extensions: Use a template nail tip for extensions. Apply an additional layer of Builder Base and spread it evenly. Cure again for 30–60 seconds.
Finishing: Remove the tacky layer with CARMA UV Cleanser and file the nail into the desired shape. Apply a final thin layer and cure it. Finish with a Top Coat for extra shine. Tips: Curvature: Rotate your hand before curing to create a beautiful curve.

What is the difference between BIAB and gel polish?
The main difference between gel polish and BIAB is their strength. Gel polish is already strong and flexes well with your nails. BIAB, which stands for “Builder in a Bottle,” is even stronger and more flexible. This means your nails are less likely to tear or break when you use BIAB. Your nails also stay beautiful and shiny longer with BIAB. In short, if you’re looking for extra strength and long-lasting shine, BIAB is a great choice!
Should a base coat be applied under the Builder Base?

No, that's not necessary. You can use Builder Base itself as a base coat, so there's no need to apply a separate base coat underneath.
Can the Peel Off Base Coat be used under the Builder Base?
Can the Peel Off Base Coat be used under the Builder Base?
No, the Peel Off Base Coat does not provide sufficient adhesion for the Builder Base. If you're a fan of the Peel Off Base Coat, we recommend using it as a base under gel polish and/or Rubber Base for the best results.
